TOPIC – Our Workplace Generational Divide:
As our industry ages, the need to recruit and train young talent is critical. Developing relationships with high school CTE and community college workforce development programs is necessary to allow us to recruit talented young people. This presentation will focus on what other AFSA chapters have done to create this pipeline and what steps can be taken in Georgia.
We will examine the differences between an internship, a youth apprentice, and an apprentice.
How low can we go? What is the minimum age at which we can recruit young people?
Why should we serve on a school systems advisory board?
How can the chapter get involved?
How should we prepare for events?
We will also discuss what resources are available to assist you in your recruiting efforts.
