ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
MEMBER & ASSOCIATE MEMBER: Full membership is open to installing contractors of fire sprinkler companies, certified in Georgia to design and install automatic fire sprinkler systems, or suppliers to the fire sprinkler industry, as long as said contractors, or suppliers are current members of the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA). Members shall have full voting rights, may hold office in the GFSA and shall be eligible for appointment to Standing Committees of the GFSA.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBER: Society of Fire Protection Engineer, Designers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction related to the fire sprinkler industry in Georgia who are current members of the AFSA are eligible for membership in this category. Professional Members have NO voting rights, nor hold office in the GFSA, but shall be eligible for appointment to Standing Committees of the GFSA.
LONG DISTANCE MEMBER: Full membership is open to installing contractors of fire sprinkler companies with their office located within Georgia and over fifty (50) miles from the State Capitol, certified in Georgia to design and install automatic fire sprinkler systems, or suppliers to the fire sprinkler industry, any of whom are current members of the AFSA. Long Distance Members shall have full voting rights, may hold office in the GFSA and shall be eligible for appointment to Standing Committees of the GFSA.
STATEMENT BY APPLICANT
I attest to the accuracy of the information in this application, and the fact that I am a CERTIFIED INSTALLING CONTRACTOR OF FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, SUPPLIER TO THE FIRE SPRINKLER INDUSTRY, S.F.P.E., STATE LICENSED SPRINKLER SYSTEM DESIGNER, OR AN AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION who is a current member of the AFSA. If approved for membership, I will do all in my power to maintain and enhance the prestige of the fire sprinkler industry, and promote the Goals of the GFSA.
Fax and Email Permission: I hereby provide permission for the GFSA to fax or email to me materials relating to the sprinkler industry. Unless otherwise directed, the GFSA directory will include fax numbers and email addresses.
GOALS OF THE GFSA
- Promote the installation of automatic sprinkler systems throughout Georgia to save lives and protect property.
- Be involved in the production and enforcement of building codes that affect our industry.
- Actively seek to influence and promote the enactment of appropriate fire protection bills in the state legislature.
- Solicit the support and participation as a member, or associate member, of each and every qualified company involved in the sprinkler industry in Georgia.
- Keep abreast of all changes, innovations, and new techniques necessary to perpetuate the quality of automatic fire sprinklers.
- Be acutely conscious of the needs of employees to insure an ongoing supply of qualified and dedicated manpower.
- Operate, supervise and inspect all aspects of our business to insure the highest quality, most dependable and code compliant sprinkler system installations.
DUES:
The annual dues for Member, Associate Member and Professional membership categories are $400.00. Annual dues for Long Distance Members are $200.00 (the first year for Long Distance Members is only $100.00). AHJ’s shall be No Charge for membership. This due structure for Member, Associate Member and Professional Member includes the cost of one meal for a member attending monthly meetings. Additional persons attending meetings will be welcomed at an additional $15.00 per person per meeting. Assessments will be considered for special projects or events.
PAYMENT:
Payment shall be invoiced annually and paid prior to the end of February in order to ensure the Members listing in the directory.
